Shocking Medical Blunder: Eye Surgeon Operates On Wrong Eye Of Child In Greater Noida
In a shocking and tragic incident, an eye surgen in Greater Noida operated on a wrong eye of a seven-year-old boy. According to the reports, doctor operated young boy's right eye was mistakenly operated instead of the left at Anand Spectrum Hospital, Sector Gamma 1, on November 12.
The boy's father, Nitin Bhati, had taken him to the hospital due to persistent watering in his left eye.

The doctor, Anand Verma, informed the family that a plastic-like object was present in the boy's eye and required surgery for removal. The operation was priced at Rs 45,000. However, after returning home post-surgery, the boy's mother discovered that the procedure had been performed on the wrong eye.
Family's Response and Hospital Confrontation
Upon realizing the mistake, Yudhisthir's parents confronted Dr. Verma and his staff about the error. Instead of addressing their concerns, they were met with unprofessional behaviour from the hospital staff. This led to a heated situation at the hospital premises.
In response to this negligence, Nitin Bhati lodged a complaint with Gautam Buddha Nagar's Chief Medical Officer (CMO). He demanded that Dr. Verma's medical license be revoked and called for the hospital to be sealed as a consequence of their actions.
Official Investigation Underway
The police have confirmed that an investigation into this incident has commenced. They assured that appropriate measures will be taken following the inquiry's findings. This case highlights significant concerns about medical practices and patient safety standards in healthcare facilities.
The distressing experience has raised questions about accountability within medical institutions. It underscores the importance of vigilance and thorough checks before conducting surgical procedures to prevent such errors from occurring in future.
