Who Will Win Delhi In 2025: AAP, BJP, or Congress? A Look Back At 2020 Poll Results
As the Delhi Assembly polls 2025 draw near, with the voting scheduled for February 5 and the results set to be announced on February 8, the national capital is brimming with excitement. Campaign slogans are plastered across walls, and various parties are intensifying their efforts to reach out to voters.
Among the contenders, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is aiming to retain power, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (Congress) are vying to sway voters with their campaigns.

2020 Delhi Assembly Elections
The 2020 Delhi Assembly elections witnessed AAP's dominance, where the party secured 62 out of the 70 seats. In stark contrast, the BJP could only manage eight seats, with Congress failing to win any.
AAP emerged victorious in terms of voter share, securing 48.23% of the votes cast. In a significant gap, the BJP managed just 6.30% of the votes.
MLAs with the Highest Vote Shares
Several AAP MLAs secured the highest vote shares in their respective constituencies. These include:
- Shoaib Iqbal (Matia Mahal) - 75.96%
- Mukesh Kumar Ahlawat (Sultanpur Majra - SC) - 66.51%
- Amanatullah Khan (Okhla) - 66.03%
A total of 53 MLAs secured more than 50% of the vote share in their constituencies, while 17 candidates fell short of this threshold.
MLAs with the Lowest Vote Shares
On the other hand, several MLAs secured the lowest vote shares in their constituencies. These include:
- Madan Lal (AAP) - 40.45%
- Anil Kumar Bajpai (BJP) - 42.64%
- Pawan Sharma (AAP) - 45.20%
The vote share percentage is calculated by dividing the votes received by a candidate by the total valid votes cast.
As the nation awaits the results of the Delhi polls, the stage is set for an intense competition between the AAP, BJP, and Congress in the Delhi Assembly elections.
