The victims of this tragic incident were Shreya Yadav from Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni from Telangana, and Nivin Dalwin from Ernakulam, Kerala, all of whom were UPSC aspirants. Shreya Yadav's father, Rajender Yadav, revealed that they had taken out a loan to afford the coaching fees. He noted that they were not immediately informed of his daughter's death on July 27, learning about it only later in the evening from her uncle.

Details of the Incident:

Police reports indicate that the Delhi fire department received a call around 7 pm on Saturday regarding severe waterlogging at the Rao IAS Study Centre and the Karol Bagh area, with students trapped in a flooded basement. Upon arrival, emergency services found the basement filled with water. Initial efforts to pump out the water were impeded by ongoing rainwater influx. Once the road water receded, they managed to lower the water level from 12 feet to eight feet and recover the bodies of the three students.

Out of approximately 30 students present at the centre, 12 to 14 were rescued and taken to a hospital, while others managed to escape on their own.

On Sunday, Delhi police arrested two individuals in connection with the incident: Abhishek Gupta, 41, the CEO and owner of the institute, and DP Singh, 60, the coordinator, on charges of culpable homicide.
