Weather update: Check latest IMD forecast for next 5 days

Weather alert India: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated in its report on April 28 that there would be no heatwave conditions over any part of India for the next five days. With no significant change in maximum temperatures over rest parts of India during the next 5 days, maximum temperatures were below 40°C over most parts of the country.

The IMD published the All India Weather Summary and Forecast Bulletin on April 26 at 8 am, stating that "Two Western Disturbances seen as a cyclonic circulation in lower and middle levels, 1st over north Pakistan and neighbourhood and 2nd over south Pakistan and neighbourhood," and "A trough runs from Maldives to Madhya Maharaashtra in lower levels."

''A fresh Western Disturbance is also likely to affect Northwest India from the night of May 01,2023,'' IMD said.

The weather agency also predicted that heavy rainfall and hailstorms with probable dust storms is likely over Rajasthan.

''Hailstorm activity very likely at isolated places over Rajasthan on 28th & 29th; Uttarakhand during 29th April- 02nd May; over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh during 01st-02nd May,''the weather office said.

''Heavy rainfall likely at isolated places over Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh on 01st & 02nd May. Duststorm very likely at isolated places over Rajasthan during 28th-29th April, 2023,'' the national weather forecaster said.

In the western part, light isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Madhya Maharashtra & Marathwada and light isolated rainfall over Gujarat region during next 5 days

Hailstorm activity very likely at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathawada on 28th April.

In the southern part, light to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorms is very likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Mahe during the next 5 days. However, heavy rainfall may strike at isolated places over Kerala from April 28 to 29th and over north Karnataka, Telangana on 29 and May 01st; over Telangana during April 29 and 30.

In Karnataka, scattered light to moderate thundershowers likely over South Coastal Karnataka today including Mangaluru.
