WATCH Video | BJP Calls Kejriwal's Bungalow A 'Corruption Museum'; AAP Fires Back

In an ongoing war of words between Delhi's ruling parties, BJP leader Virendra Sachdeva accused Arvind Kejriwal of embezzling public funds to build a luxurious bungalow, dubbing it a "museum of corruption."

The controversy erupted after Sachdeva shared a video on social media, showing the lavish amenities of the former Delhi Chief Minister's residence.

Sachdeva, speaking out against Kejriwal, claimed the bungalow featured high-end facilities such as a gym, sauna room, and jacuzzi. He further alleged that the total cost of these amenities amounted to ₹3.75 crore. The BJP leader detailed extravagant costs, including ₹1.9 crore spent on marble granite lighting and ₹1.5 crore for civil work. Sachdeva also pointed to the ₹35 lakh spent on the gym and spa fittings, accusing Kejriwal of spending taxpayer money on a personal "7-star resort."

“This is the 'Sheesh Mahal' of the so-called common man, Arvind Kejriwal, who has built this palace using embezzled public money," Sachdeva charged. He urged the AAP leader to answer why he had kept the bungalow secret, questioning why Kejriwal had attempted to hide both the property and its extravagant amenities from the public eye.

Sachdeva took to social media, challenging Kejriwal to open the doors of his former residence to the public, accusing the Delhi CM of hiding the "reality" of his alleged corruption. He labeled the bungalow as a testament to the “scams” within Kejriwal’s administration and demanded that the public be shown the truth.

AAP Dismisses Allegations as 'Baseless Propaganda’

However, AAP swiftly countered the allegations, calling them a "baseless propaganda" aimed at diverting attention from real issues. Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia, blasted the BJP for focusing on Kejriwal’s former residence while important concerns such as the mismanagement of funds in schools, hospitals, and mid-day meals in states like Haryana and Uttar Pradesh were being ignored.

Sisodia emphasized that the BJP’s efforts to target the Delhi Chief Minister’s bungalow were an attempt to deflect attention from their own failures in governance. He pointed out that people were more concerned about reforms in education and healthcare rather than the details of a bungalow, accusing the BJP of playing politics over a non-issue.

The Growing Tension Between BJP and AAP

This latest spat is just another chapter in the ongoing political rivalry between the BJP and AAP. Over the years, the two parties have clashed over various issues, with allegations of corruption and mismanagement being at the center of most controversies. While the BJP continues to target Kejriwal, accusing him of hypocrisy, AAP maintains that these attacks are a smokescreen to divert attention from the BJP’s own shortcomings in governance.

As both parties dig in their heels, the question remains whether the accusations and counter-accusations will shift the focus of Delhi’s voters ahead of the upcoming elections or whether the allegations will fade into political rhetoric. Only time will tell how this political drama unfolds, but for now, the debate over Kejriwal’s “Sheesh Mahal” continues to make headlines.
