WATCH - Fire Breaks Out At Restaurant In Delhi's Rajouri Garden; 10 Fire Tenders Deployed

A massive fire broke out at the Jungle Jamboree restaurant in West Delhi's Rajouri Garden area on Monday afternoon, causing panic among locals and leading to a swift response from the Delhi Fire Services.

The fire erupted around 2:01 pm near the Rajouri Garden Metro Station, with thick smoke quickly engulfing the area. In response, authorities dispatched 10 fire engines to the scene to combat the blaze.

Delhi Fire Services Chief Atul Garg confirmed the fire call was received at 2:01 pm, and emergency services were immediately mobilized. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage. However, the thick smoke forced people to seek refuge, with reports suggesting more than 20 individuals were present in the restaurant at the time of the incident. Many were seen jumping from the restaurant's open seating area to an adjacent building's terrace to escape the danger.

Videos of the incident quickly went viral on social media, showing the dramatic rescue efforts and the enormous plumes of smoke rising from the building.

One shopkeeper, Ghanshyam Agarwal, recalled witnessing the smoke and alerting the authorities. "We immediately informed the police and fire brigade teams. More than 25 people jumped from the open sitting area to a nearby building's terrace to save their lives," he said.

As firefighting operations continue, authorities have cordoned off the vicinity to facilitate safe and effective rescue work. The situation remains under control, and no casualties have been reported as of yet. However, the damage to the restaurant is significant, with the full extent of the loss still being assessed. The fire has raised concerns about fire safety measures in commercial establishments in the area.

As the investigation into the cause of the fire continues, the authorities are ensuring that the area remains secured and that rescue efforts are carried out efficiently.
