Varun Gandhi supports mother Maneka
New Delhi, July 15: Women and Child Welfare Minister Maneka Gandhi voiced her opinion on Juvenile Justice Act on Saturday and is now being backed up by her son for the same.

BJP MP Varun Gandhi on Monday tweeted that 'there should be no difference between adults and juveniles in rape cases.'

Gandhi wrote: "if the culprit is old enough to rape then he is old enough to be tried as an adult in a court of law."

Maneka had demanded that juveniles who were found guilty of rape must be tried as adults in a court of law. She said that she was working towards amending the law so that juveniles can be tried as adults.

Maneka also saw support from Delhi Commission for Women chief Barkha Singh who welcomed Maneka's statement and demanded that the law be amended as soon as possible.
