UP Board Announces Summer Vacations From May 20: Check Details
The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board has announced summer vacations from May 20 in view of the scorching heat.
The summer vacations in UP will start on May 20 and continue till June 15. The order is applicable to all affiliated and recognised schools of the Board in Noida, Lucknow, and other UP cities and towns.

As per the order, classes from 1 to 8th standard will be closed for a duration of 40 days.
The announcement comes amid an intense heatwave prevalent in Uttar Pradesh. With the temperature rising at an alarming rate, residents are struggling to leave their houses even for daily tasks.
Summer Vacations 2023
Amid the soaring temperature other states like Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand have also announced summer vacations.
In Jharkhand, schools will remain closed from May 21 to June 10. While the schools in Madhya Pradesh would remain shut from May 1 to June 15.
In Maharashtra, schools will open on 15 June 15, 2023, except Vidarbha. The authorities have stated that schools in Vidarbha district will reopen on June 30 for students.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that no heat wave conditions were likely in Northwest India during the next seven days.
The maximum temperatures shot up to 44 degrees Celsius over most parts of Northwest, Central, and adjoining East India and North Peninsular India.
