Twitter abuzz with Karnataka's Tipu Sultan tableau on R-Day

Tipu Sultan, also known as the 'Tiger of Mysore', was depicted on the tableau on Sunday, Jan 26 holding a sword. Soon after the parade, a war of words broke out among Twitter users some criticising the idea, some praising it as Tipu Sultan began trending on the social networking site.
Those who chose to go bitter with their words said that it was not right for the government to depict a person 'who had killed thousands' to depict the culture of Karnataka.
While some said that 'Tipu was a warrior who fought the British' and it was nice to see a forgotten hero on the tableau.
