‘Together We Can’: Chats Expose Wife-Cousin Plot Behind Delhi Man’s Shocking Murder

In a chilling case of deceit and betrayal from Delhi, what initially appeared to be a tragic accidental death by electrocution turned out to be a premeditated murder. A 36-year-old man, Karan Dev, was allegedly killed by his wife and her lover-who also happened to be his cousin-over an illicit affair.

The case came to light when investigators uncovered incriminating chat messages between the victim's wife, Sushmita, and cousin Rahul. The duo, who are now in police custody, had conspired to make Karan's murder look like an electrical accident.

What Happened?

On July 13, Sushmita brought her husband Karan Dev to Mata Rooprani Maggo Hospital, claiming he had suffered an electric shock. Doctors pronounced him dead, and his family, unaware of any foul play, waived the post-mortem. However, police grew suspicious due to Karan's age and the circumstances surrounding his death and ordered an autopsy at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital in Harinagar-despite objections from both Sushmita and Rahul.

Three days later, Karan's younger brother, Kunal, approached the police with serious allegations. He accused Sushmita and Rahul of plotting the murder and submitted screenshots of their private Instagram chats as evidence.

Digital Trail Unravels the Murder

The chat messages accessed by investigators revealed that on the night of July 12, the pair had crushed and mixed 15 sleeping pills into Karan's dinner. Once he became unconscious, they waited and then allegedly executed their plan using electric shock. Their messages also showed they had searched online for how long it would take for the sedatives to take effect, indicating a detailed plan.

The case has sparked outrage and disbelief, with authorities calling it one of the most cold-blooded and calculated domestic crimes in recent times. Investigations are ongoing.
