Tehelka case: Shoma Chaudhary rejects slander allegations

"I strongly reject the allegations in the media that I'm involved in any manner," said Shoma in a statement today.
She gave out a statement that "I strongly reject the allegations in the media that I am involved in any manner with any slander, intimidation or character assassination of the complainant journalist. This is a malicious campaign that has no basis in truth."
The Goa police had on November 22 lodged an FIR against Tejpal under IPC sections 376 (rape), 376 (2)(k) (rape by a person of a woman in his custody taking advantage of his official position) and 354 (outraging modesty) in connection with the incident.
Following the incident, the journalist had resigned from Tehelka, accusing Tejpal and Managing Editor Shoma Chaudhary of a "cover-up" and resorting to "tactics of intimidation, character assassination and slander".
