Sushma Swaraj welcomes Aus Foreign Minister Julie Bishop with a tight hug

New Delhi, April 15: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop on Tuesday.

Swaraj was seen embracing Bishop tightly on her arrival and both the leaders recognized the importance of finalising a mutually beneficial Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA).

Bishop is on a three day visit to India. According to a press release from the Ministry of External Affairs, the meeting between the two leaders encouraged strong business opportunities between India and Australia and even highlighted the role of Make In India show, which will be held in Australia this year.

Swaraj welcomed the establishment of Indian Cultural Centre in Sydney and highlighted the growing importance of cultural exchange.

Swaraj also met her counterpart from North Korea, Ri Su Yong and voiced India's security concerns [FMs of India-N Korea meet; Sushma Swaraj conveys security concerns]

During her comprehensive talks with Ri, who arrived here yesterday in a first ever visit by a Foreign Minister from DPRK, Swaraj also assured that India would "positively" consider Korean request for additional humanitarian aid.
