Sunanda Pushkar's death: 3 fake passport holders under scanner, Police team to head to Dubai

New Delhi, Nov 18: Mystery surrounding Sunanda Pushkar's death took a strange turn on Tuesday after it was revealed that the Delhi Police was probing three fake passport holders who had checked into the hotel on the night when Pushkar was found dead in her hotel.

The trio who are likely from Dubai, are under the scanner after it was found that they were using fake passports to stay at the Leela Palace Hotel. Delhi police team headed by ACP will be heading to Dubai soon.

Sunanda's death: Police to go to Dubai

The trio stayed at the hotel between Jan 13 and 18, sources said. Hotel staff told police that the three people were foreigners. Reports also suggest that the Police are not ruling out Sunanda's death link to the IPL.

"Investigation is going on,information will be given once we reach a conclusion: BS Bassi, Police Commissioner said. Meanwhile,the Delhi Police are considering sending the viscera samples of Pushkar to a forensic laboratory abroad to determine the type of poison that might have caused her death.

Pushkar was found dead on 17 January in a suite of Hotel Leela, where she was staying along with her husband, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor.
