's anticipatory bail plea. The order has been reserved till Nov 29.

Justice Sunita Gupta earlier in the day deferred the matter after a junior counsel pleaded before the court that senior counsel KTS Tulsi, representing Tejpal, is busy at the Supreme Court and will be available after 3 p.m.

On Monday, the court declined to give any relief to Tejpal, who is facing charges of sexually assaulting a journalist colleague, and asked the police to file a response to his bail plea by Wednesday.

Goa Police opposed the bail application, saying the matter was serious in nature. The police also said they have not received a copy of the bail application. Meanwhile, the Goa Police also issued deadline for Tejpal, asked him to appear before the investigative officer by 3 pm on Thursday, Nov 28.

Tejpal has been accused of sexually assaulting a Tehelka journalist

A Tehelka journalist has accused Tejpal of sexually assaulting her twice at a five-star resort in Panaji earlir this month.

Shyam Keswani, a noted lawyer, has been assisting the young woman in fighting the legal battle against the high-profile Tejpal. Speaking about the case, Keswani said, "...That (a separate FIR against Tejpal) may not be necessary. The legal process has already been initiated with the registration of the FIR by the Goa police. In any case, she has confirmed in writing the details of the FIR filed by the police."

Media reports quoted some sources from the investigating team as saying, "The details given by the victim are shocking. Tejpal deserves the most stringent punishment."
