Robert Vadra may be stripped of special privilege at airports

Vadra to lose security at airport?
New Delhi, May 30: Congress President Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra's is likely to lose his security cover at airports if reports are to be believed.

Reports suggest that the Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati too hinted the same on Thrusday when he said that 'security should be meaningful and not ornamental.'

"It is for the home ministry to see the threat perception of individuals. But generally, by and large, Indians should go through security checks," Raju said.

Vadra is the only civilian named in the list of dignitaries (VIPs) who are exempted from security checks at airports.

With the Congress is out of power now, the change is likely to happen.

Earlier various passenger bodies like Air Passengers Association of India had written and complained to the aviation secretary Ashok Lavasa questioning why Vadra was given the special privilege.

Vadra had come under severe attack and criticism during the Lok Sabha election campaign where he was targeted by the Opposition.
