US President Barack Obama will give Taj Mahal a miss, cancels trip to Agra

New Delhi, Jan 24: Just a day before the arrival of US President Barack Obama to India, it is now confirmed that Obama will cancel his trip to Agra.

On Saturday, TV reports suggested that Obama may likely give the Taj Mahal a miss and fly out early from the country.

Barack Obama may not visit Agra

A government official said that there was a possibility that Obama may leave India earlier than scheduled.

However the official confirmation from the White House came in later on Saturday evening. Obama was scheduled to visit the Taj Mahal in Agra on Jan 27, following which he is likely to head back to the US.

Elaborate plans were in place for Obama's Agra visit including UP CM Akhilesh Yadav receiving him in Uttar Pradesh.

Obama will be arriving in India on Jan 25 and will attend the Republic Day celebrations. On the same day he will be having dinner with PM Modi at 7 RCR.
