DC enters the contest as the favourite, having topped the league stage with six wins and two defeats from eight matches. This impressive performance secured them a direct entry into the final without the need to play the Eliminator, as per News 18 reports.
In contrast, RCB secured their place in the final by defeating the inaugural champions Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator on Friday. This victory marks RCB's first-ever appearance in a WPL final. During the league stage, the Smriti Mandhana-led franchise finished third on the table, winning four matches and losing an equal number, as reported by News 18.
On Saturday, DC captain Meg Lanning expressed her confidence that her team would rise to the challenge posed by RCB, emphasizing their ability to deliver when needed. RCB captain Mandhana, on the other hand, isn't dwelling on past performances. Instead, she stressed the importance of living in the present and focusing on playing good cricket during the match.
