PM Modi Launches Fresh Attack On Delhi Govt Ahead Of Polls: 'AAPda Turned Every Season Into Emergency'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a fresh attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi during a BJP rally in Rohini on Sunday, claiming that "AAP-da" had squandered 10 years of the people of Delhi.

Referring to issues like water shortages, waterlogging, and air pollution, PM Modi stated that the AAP government had turned every season in Delhi into a crisis.

"The entire city takes pride in Bharat Mandapam, YashoBhoomi, and Kartavya Path... I feel disheartened that the 'AAP-da' administration has wasted 10 years of the people of Delhi. There are several places in Delhi where cabs and autos refuse to come because of long traffic jams... Today, a major newspaper has exposed the spending on 'Sheesh Mahal' based on a CAG report. While the people of Delhi were battling Covid, they were focused on building 'Sheesh Mahal'. They have no concern for the people of Delhi," he was quoted as saying by ANI.

"AAP-da (calamity) has turned every season in Delhi into an emergency, with water shortages, waterlogging, and pollution," he added.

PM Modi further asserted that AAP lacked a vision for the development of Delhi. He claimed that all significant development works in the capital were carried out by the central government.

"This 'AAP-da' government has no vision for the development of the people of Delhi. Even now, all the development in Delhi is being undertaken by the central government. The Delhi Metro has reached every part of the city, a project accomplished by the BJP. This Namo train service, highways, flyovers, everything has been done by the central government. Through the PM Awas Yojana, the central government provides funds to the poor for housing," he said.

Modi appealed to the people of Delhi to vote for the BJP in the upcoming assembly elections.

"I urge the people of Delhi to give the BJP a chance for a bright future. Only the BJP can develop Delhi. The government that Delhi has experienced in the last 10 years has been no better than 'AAP-da'. Now, in Delhi, we only hear 'AAP-da nahi sahenge, badal ke rahenge'. Delhi wants development, and the people of Delhi trust the BJP," he added.

In response to PM Modi's "AAP-da" remark earlier this week, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal said that his party had accomplished several things in the last 10 years, while the BJP-led central government "has not done anything that PM Modi could mention in his speech".
