Orange Alert In Delhi For Rain And Thunderstorms, Says IMD
Delhi is set to experience moderate to heavy rainfall tonight, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing an orange alert for the national capital. The forecast also includes lightning, thunderstorms, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kmph during the night.
According to the IMD, the minimum temperature recorded in Delhi today was 28 degrees Celsius, which is 0.5 degrees above normal for this time of year. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 36 degrees Celsius.

At 8:30 AM, Delhi's relative humidity was recorded at 82 percent, indicating significant moisture in the atmosphere-a key factor contributing to the evening's expected rain activity.
Despite the weather alert, air quality in the capital remained in the 'satisfactory' category, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) measured at 80 at 9:00 AM, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). As per CPCB standards:
0-50 is classified as 'good'
51-100 is 'satisfactory'
101-200 is 'moderate'
201-300 is 'poor'
301-400 is 'very poor'
401-500 is 'severe'
Residents are advised to stay indoors during the storm and take necessary precautions due to the orange alert, which indicates the possibility of disruptive weather.
