On Ambedkar Jayanti, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Launches Water ATMs in Shalimar Bagh

Marking the birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated a series of Water ATMs in Shalimar Bagh, aiming to improve access to safe drinking water for local residents.

The Water ATMs have been installed in GP Block and Beriwala Bagh Block within the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency. The initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen basic civic amenities in the area and ensure that clean water reaches every household.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister highlighted Dr. Ambedkar's vision of social justice and equal access to essential resources. She said that the Constitution laid the foundation for citizens' rights, including access to basic amenities, and that such projects are steps toward fulfilling that vision on the ground.

According to officials, a total of seven Water ATMs have been set up across wards 55, 56, and 57. Each unit is designed to supply up to 2,000 litres of purified water per hour. The system uses advanced five-stage reverse osmosis (RO) technology capable of treating water with up to 3000 TDS levels, ensuring safe and clean drinking water.

The facilities will be monitored кругл the clock to maintain quality and efficiency. Residents will be able to access up to 20 litres of drinking water per person per day through specially issued Water ATM cards.

The initiative is expected to significantly ease water access challenges in the area while promoting public health and hygiene.
