Olympics bronze medallist Mary Kom fails to make it to Glasgow CWG squad

New Delhi, May 24: Indian boxer and London Olympics bronze medallist MC Mary Kom on Friday failed to make the cut in the Indian boxing squad for the

, to be held in Glasgow from July 23 to August 3 this year.

Mary lost her bout to Pinki Jangra in the 51 kg category selection trials for the games.

Mary had made a comeback after two years and hoped to make it to the India boxing team that will represent the country at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Though she failed to make the cut she praised Pinki saying that 'Pinki is doing well and hope that India will win some medals at the Games.' This is first time in 13 that Mary has failed to make it to the national boxing team.

Meanwhile Glasgow has been busy preparing for the games that will be held in late July this year.
