Noida Airport Declared No-Drone Zone; New Bus Routes To Boost Jewar Connectivity

Since Noida International Airport is expected to grow into one of India's main aviation hubs, protecting it has taken on national importance. The Gautam Budh Nagar Police warned on Saturday, April 26, that operating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones near the Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, airport is illegal.

"It is strictly forbidden to fly drones or any kind of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) over or close to Noida International Airport," said Manish Kumar Mishra, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police at Jewar Airport. The choice has been made to give airport security top priority and to efficiently monitor airspace. He added that the Noida International Airport has previously been designated a Red Zone (no drone fly zone) on October 8, 2024, in accordance with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, and other security authorities' directions.

"Flying a drone without permission in this designated area constitutes a punishable offence under the Airports Authority of India Act, 1934, and the UAV operation rules," Mishra said. "Any individual, organization, or group found to be in violation of this directive will face severe legal action. "Everyone is encouraged to follow the guidelines and assist the airport's security system," he continued.

Bus Services to Improve Connectivity at Jewar Airport

The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) is getting ready to launch a bus service connecting Jewar Airport with Pari Chowk in Greater Noida as part of a parallel initiative to improve public transportation in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) zone. Following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's directives, this program is a component of a broader strategy to promote rapid growth and increase regional connectivity.

Three new bus routes for the YEIDA region have been finalized under the direction of CM Yogi. The 42-kilometer section that runs from Jewar Airport to Pari Chowk is regarded as being especially important. In addition to helping locals, this route will facilitate transit for travelers using the new international airport. The recently extended service is anticipated to offer better regularity and wider coverage, even though a limited bus service between Jewar Airport and Pari Chowk has been running since 2023.

These transportation improvements are a part of a calculated attempt to make sure the quickly expanding Yamuna Expressway region is ready for future demands, including the expansion of both residential and industrial areas.

Two additional bus lines are being added to the Jewar-Greater Noida route. One will use Noida Sectors 20 and 21 to link the Botanical Garden with Kulesara and Bhangel. The second will span 51 kilometers and connect YEIDA's regional office with Dankaur Chowk, Sector 17, and Bhanghel.

Along with connecting Gautam Buddha University students and commuters going to Pari Chowk, the District Magistrate's office, Jagat Farm, Surajpur, Kulesara, and Bhangel village, these new routes will service important locations including Rabupura and Noida sectors 17, 20, 21, and 26.

The YEIDA region's continuous industrial and residential development boom has resulted in a substantial rise in demand for dependable public transportation.

Future bus services, particularly along the Jewar-Pari Chowk route, are a big step toward addressing these changing transportation demands and promoting regional growth in general.

In the future, there are also plans to start an electric bus service between Jewar Airport and Delhi. It is anticipated that more additional bus routes will increase the variety of transportation alternatives available, supporting initiatives to create a prosperous and well-connected Yamuna Development Authority area.
