In his first radio address, Modi had urged the people to make use of khadi in every aspect. He said: "We must promote the use of khadi. Buy at least one khadi article. It will help the poor and in one house one Diwali diya would be lit this festive season."
He even urged people to be a part of the 'Swachh Bharat' campaign and said that it is the need of the hour that every Indian shows his/her participation in keeping the public places and surroundings clean.
The PM also said that he would connect with the people every month on a Sunday at 11 am through radio.
