Narendra Modi to resign as BJP election campaign chief: Reports

The reports claimed that the party would appoint someone new who would replace Modi as the campaign head of the Lok Sabha election which is expected to be held in 2014.
However, Modi will not resign as Gujarat CM, confirmed BJP President Rajnath Singh and ideological mentor of BJP -- Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) leaders. According to Singh, Modi would not leave Gujarat and no one will be appointed as deputy CM of Gujarat as well.
Modi will not resign as Gujarat CM
Earlier addressing a group of young student in Gujarat, Modi had promised that he would not leave his responsibilities for Gujarat if he would be given any bigger role in national politics. Modi won assembly elections for fourth consecutive times in Gujarat.
Despite Advani's reservation on the announcement on Modi, the Gujarat CM has been named the prime ministerial candidate of BJP. Advani earlier had resigned from crucial posts in NDA following Modi's previous elevation as election campaign chief. However, the veteran later had withdrawn his resignation being convinced by RSS.
