Modi to address 3 rallies in Delhi today, PM cancels scheduled rally
Modi's first rally will be in East Delhi at 11am. He will then address rallies in Northeast & South Delhi and finally at Chandni Chowk in the evening.
Modi was to hold a fourth rally in Sarojini Nagar too, which falls under Sheila Dikshit's constituency. But it was cancelled after authorities refused permission.
BJP leaders including Arun Jaitley mocked PM for cancelling his rally saying Congress is afraid of Modi's rallies. This shows Congress' hopelessness, Jaitley said.
However, Congress said PM's office had to cancel the rally as he had other engagements.
"Congress had sought time of Singh from the PMO. We were waiting for three days and then yesterday, we were informed that the Prime Minister won't be able to make it as Japanese emperor Akihito and his wife empress Michiko will be arrive here on a six-day visit on November 30. They are coming here at the invitation of the Prime Minister and hence he would be busy that day," AICC general secretary in-charge for Delhi Shakeel Ahmed said (as reported by Times of India).
