Model shooting case: Accused husband arrested in Delhi

New Delhi, April 22: Delhi Police on Sunday, April 19 arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly shooting his wife, who worked as a model in Delhi.

Joint team of Special Staff, South East district and Police Stations of Sunlight Colony and Ambedkar Nagar had led the search operation.

He was also wanted in three cases of attempt to murder in South-East District and South District," said DCP (southeast) Mandeep Randhawa.

One .32 bore pistol with one cartridge and a car which was used in a case Ambedkar Nagar also recovered from their possession, the DCP added.

According to police, the man was upset as he allegedly caught his wife chatting online with a male friend, who lives in Jamia Nagar.

The duo reportedly got married two months ago, but had not informed their families.

Last Thursday, Neha had introduced Prince as her husband to her family members.

On Friday night, Prince was at Neha's residence in Ashram area of Delhi. At midnight, he checked Neha's cellphone and found out that Neha had been chatting on Facebook with a male friend.

Then, he started argument with Neha and in a fit of rage, he shot at her twice.

21-year-old Neha was admitted to the ICU of AIIMS TRauma Centre, where she had undergone second surgery since Sunday. Here condition is said to be stable now.

Neha who was earlier based in Mumbai and has appeared in some reality shows during the period, was living with her parents and younger sister at the Hari Nagar house for the past four months.

Accused husband, a 'proclaimed offender'

Shockingly, it emerged that Prince is already charged with a murder case in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh.

He is also facing four "attempt-to-murder" cases in Delhi, police said.
