Manmohan Singh to chair last Cabinet meet today

will chair his last Cabinet meet on Tuesday. He will also hold a meeting on economic affairs in South Block where he is likely to take a decision on the FDI in the pharma sector.

Later during the day Singh will host a dinner for his officers.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi will host a farewell dinner tomorrow, May 14 for Singh following which he will demitt his office on May 17, a day after the results of the Lok Sabha elections are announced.

Singh will also address the people on the eve of him demitting his office in his farewwell speech.

Earlier this year Singh had announced that he would not seek a third term as the PM after the parliamentary elections. He had said that he would hand over the baton to a new prime minister.
