Mani Shankar Aiyar hits out at Shashi Tharoor, calls him a 'chameleon'

Aiyar calls Tharoor a 'chameleon'
New Delhi, June 6: A day after Congress leader Shashi Tharoor praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar hit out at Tharoor calling him 'immature' and a 'chameleon'.

This comes after Tharoor praised Modi saying 'Opposition would be churlish in ignoring the voices of inclusive outreach of the new Prime Minister.

Aiyar, who had been in a controversy earlier for calling Modi a 'chaiwalla' on Thursday said that he was deeply disappointed that an intelligent man like Tharoor should come out with such effusive remarks.

"This kind of chameleon politics is utterly undesirable. I am very sad that he should have created a controversy at this stage. It demonstrates great immaturity," Aiyar said.

Meanwhile the Congress has distanced itself from Tharoor's remarks saying that 'his opinion is his personal view.'

Aiyar said it is his job as a member of the Opposition to keep "red alert" on a man whose past record does not inspire confidence in him.
