Maneka Gandhi: Varun Gandhi will be a better CM for UP

New Delhi, Aug 4: Raising the pitch for her son, Union Minister for Women and Child Development

on Sunday said that 'it would be wonderful if Varun was made the next UP Chief Minister.'

Addressing a public meeting in Pilibhit on Sunday, Maneka said: "There is BJP government at the Centre and SP government in UP. Ever since the BJP won the Lok Sabha elections, Mulayam Singh Yadav has stopped all development works in the state."

She added that the BJP government would have taken forward the development works in the state. "It would have been wonderful if Varun was running the BJP government in the state and it would have also been great for Pilibhit," she said.

Meanwhile SP government has hit back at Maneka saying that Maneka was day dreaming about her son becoming the CM. "This shows how desparate the BJP leaders are in trying to promote their children," Ahmad Hassan said.

Meanwhile the UP BJP chief said that the statement made by Maneka Gandhi was her 'personal view.'
