In a horrific incident a six year old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by three minor boys in Bhajanpura area of northeast Delhi on January 18, police officials said on Tuesday.

The accused boys are aged 10, 13, and 14. Two of them have been taken into custody, while the third boy is still absconding along with his family.

The child, who lives with her parents and three siblings, is now in a stable condition and recovering at home. Her family informed the police as soon as they understood the seriousness of the incident.

Child Returned Home Injured, Initially Hid the Truth

According to the girl's mother, the child returned home around 7 pm on the day of the incident, bleeding heavily and unconscious. At first, she claimed she had fallen. A 13-year-old neighbour also repeated the same story, saying the girl had slipped and got hurt.

After repeated questioning, the child revealed the truth. The mother said the girl had been lured with food by the neighbour and two other boys known to the family. They allegedly took her to an empty two-storey building nearby, tied her hands, and covered her mouth to stop her from shouting.

A police officer confirmed that the girl shared the same account during questioning and said the boys had threatened her to stay silent.

Medical Examination and Police Investigation

The family immediately approached the Jafrabad police station. The child was taken to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, where doctors noted severe injuries and heavy bleeding. She was unable to walk, and further medical tests were advised.

Police later transferred the case to Bhajanpura police station. Investigators visited the abandoned building mentioned by the child, where bloodstains were found. Forensic samples were collected from the spot.

The girl remains bedridden at home. Her mother said the child experiences pain while sitting and starts bleeding if she tries to walk or play.

Accused Minors Produced Before Authorities

The 10-year-old and 13-year-old boys were apprehended on January 19 and presented before the Child Welfare Committee. The third accused, aged 14, is still missing. Police teams are searching for him and his family.

The girl's mother said all three accused were friends of her late son, who passed away last year.

The child's father, a rickshaw puller, demanded strict punishment. He said the boys should be tried as adults, stating that they were fully aware of their actions. He also shared that he has stopped going to work due to fear for his daughters' safety.

The incident has sparked anger in the area. On Monday, right-wing groups blocked a road to protest and demanded the immediate arrest of the absconding accused.

Police said further investigation is ongoing and assured that strict action will be taken as per law.
