Lunar Eclipse 2023 India Date and Time: When and where to watch Chandra Grahan LIVE streaming; Details inside
Skywatchers are in for a treat as a penumbral lunar eclipse is set to take place on May 5. The rare celestial event will begin on 5 May 2023, at around 8.44 pm, reach its maximum at 10.52 pm, and end at 1.01 am on May 6.

What is a penumbral eclipse?
According to Time and Date, every lunar eclipse is linked to a penumbral stage. When the Moon passes through Earth's dark, inner shadow, known as the umbra, it creates a partial or total lunar eclipse.
A penumbral lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon moves through the faint, outer part of Earth's shadow, the penumbra.
It is hard to catch a glimpse of a penumbral eclipse as at least 70 percent of the moon's diameter is shaded. However, one can see it when the eclipse reaches its maximum point, when part of the Moon may appear slightly darker than the other.
