Jangpura Assembly Election Results: Who Will Be The Winner? Manish Sisodia Loses To BJP Candidate
LIVE: Jangpura Assembly Election Results: AAP's Manish Sisodia has reportedly lost the poll against his nearest rival Tarvinder Singh Marwah in the Janpura Assembly seat. The counting of votes began at 8 am on Saturday. Congress' Farhad Suri ended in the third place.
Manish Sisodia has conceded defeat as he lost the poll by a margin of just 600 votes. Speaking to ANI, he said, "Party workers fought well; we all did hard work. People have supported us as well. But, I lose by 600 votes. I congratulate the candidate who won. I hope he will work for the constituency."
AAP's Stronghold Faces Tough Competition
Traditionally an AAP stronghold, Jangpura has been a significant seat for the party, with Praveen Kumar securing back-to-back victories in 2015 and 2020. He garnered over 48% of the votes in 2015 and increased his margin to around 51% in 2020, solidifying AAP's influence in the area. However, with seasoned contenders in the race this time, the outcome remains uncertain.

The BJP and Congress have consistently struggled to break AAP's dominance, though both parties have maintained a considerable vote share. With political dynamics shifting and prominent candidates in the fray, the 2025 election could be more unpredictable than in previous years.
As per the Election Commission data, Jangpura has 1,46,383 registered voters, comprising a balanced mix of men and women, along with a small number of service voters. The demographic composition highlights a diverse electorate, making voter outreach strategies crucial for all candidates.
Historically, the constituency has seen power shifts. Congress enjoyed a strong run in the late 1990s and early 2000s, with Tarvinder Singh Marwah winning three consecutive terms. However, AAP's emergence changed the political landscape, leading to its continued dominance since 2015. With the 2025 elections on the horizon, the battle for Jangpura could signal broader political trends in Delhi.
With high-profile candidates, shifting voter preferences, and pressing local issues at play, the Jangpura Assembly election promises to be one of the most defining contests in Delhi's 2025 electoral landscape. The voters' decision will ultimately shape the future direction of this key constituency and, possibly, the city's broader political framework.
