Light Rainfall in Parts of Delhi

The city woke up to a hazy morning, with high relative humidity causing a slight mist. IMD data showed no rainfall at any weather station in the 24 hours leading up to 8:30 am on Tuesday, except for 0.5mm recorded at Mayur Vihar. However, light showers were reported in parts of north, west, and south Delhi from 10 am onwards, as reported by Hindustan Times.

"Short but intense spells of rain were recorded in isolated parts of Delhi," an IMD official said, forecasting isolated light rain to continue over the next few days. The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for light to moderate showers on July 12 and 13.

As of 10 am on Tuesday, Delhi's average AQI stood at 77, classified as 'satisfactory.' This was a slight deterioration from a reading of 56 the previous day, which was the lowest so far this year, as per hindustan Times report. The AQI is expected to improve again following rain, as pollutants get settled or washed away.

An AQI between 51 and 100 is considered 'satisfactory,' 101 to 200 is 'moderate,' 201 to 300 is 'poor,' 301 to 400 is 'very poor,' and over 400 is 'severe.' Delhi's minimum temperature was recorded at 27.2°C on Tuesday, typical for this time of year, compared to 25.6°C the previous day, as per media report. The maximum temperature is forecast to be around 33°C on Tuesday, slightly higher than the 32.2°C recorded on Monday.
