Laxmikant Parsekar unanimously chosen as Goa CM

Laxmikant Parsekar to be next Goa CM
New Delhi, Nov 8: All speculations have been put to rest as BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy told PTI that Laxmikant Parsekar was chosen as the next Goa CM.

"Parsekar, currently Health Minister, was elected unanimously at the legislature party meeting," said Rudy. Parsekar's name was proposed by outgoing CM Manohar Parrikar and was seconded by Deputy CM Francis D'Souza.

Parsekar will be sworn-in as the chief minister today at 4pm at the Raj Bhavan. An RSS man, Parsekar currently holds the portfolio of the state Health Minister.

Manohar Parrikar had earlier in the day submitted his resignation from the CM's post to be inducted in Narendra Modi's cabinet.
