Land Boundary Agreement Bill cleared, PM Narendra Modi thanks Sonia Gandhi
New Delhi, May 7: Lok Sabha on Thursday passed the Indo-Bangla Land Boundary Agreement Bill. Shortly after the Bill was passed Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to express his gratitude towards the Opposition.
Modi said: "Today a historic milestone has been reached in India-Bangladesh relations after passing of Constitutional Amendment by Parliament.
The Amendment passed ensures permanent settlement of land boundary with Bangladesh and resolution of long-pending boundary issues."

The Amendment has now been approved by both the Houses of Parliament. The bill was unanimously passed by the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, while the Lok Sabha gave its unanimous nod to the legislation on Thursday.
