Land Acquisition Bill: Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh to lead march today

New Delhi, March 17: A day after members of the Youth Congress protested against the Land Acquisition Bill in New Delhi [Youth Congress workers protest against Land Acquisition Bill], Congress President Sonia Gandhi along with Manmohan Singh and other leaders will be leading the march today.

Sonia, Manmohan Singh and other party leaders will be leading the march from the Parliament to Rashtrapati Bhawan against the Land Acquisition Bill.

Congress along with the opposition parties are trying their best to corner the Narendra Modi-led government and are terming the Land Aquisiton Bill as 'anti-farmer'.

Apart from Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh, HD Devegowda, Sitaram Yetchury, Dinesh Trivedi, Ramgopal Yadav and other are expected to join the protest. Congress hit out at the Modi government terming that it was pro-investors.

Reports suggest that Sonia has shown a keen interest in the march even though Rahul Gandhi seems to be missing from the action.

On Monday, Youth Congress workers marched towards the Parliament but were stopped by the police. As some workers tried to climb and cross the barricades, the police resorted to mild lathicharge and even used water canons to disperse the crowd.
