Kejriwal Predicts AAP Will Win 55-60 Seats in Delhi Assembly Elections

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal expressed strong confidence in his party's victory in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, predicting that AAP would secure 55 seats. However, he added that with the support of women voters, the party could potentially win up to 60 seats.

The Delhi Assembly elections, scheduled for February 5, will see a three-way contest between the BJP, Congress, and AAP. The election results will be announced on February 8.

During a roadshow in Kalka Ji, Kejriwal stated, "We are confident about winning 55 seats, but if my mothers and sisters lend their support, we could reach 60." He called on women voters to sway the men in their households, asserting, "The BJP has nothing to offer; it's a party for the wealthy. Only Kejriwal can make a difference... This election is for women. If women participate, we will secure more than 60 seats. AAP will triumph in New Delhi, Jangpura, and Kalka Ji by a historic margin."

This roadshow marked the culmination of campaigning for the Delhi Assembly elections.

In the 2020 Assembly elections, AAP won 62 seats, while the BJP managed only 8. The Congress party, struggling to gain traction, hopes to dilute AAP's support across various constituencies. On the other hand, the BJP is determined to end its losing streak.

BJP candidate Parvesh Verma, who is running against Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi Assembly constituency, confidently claimed, "We will win by a significant margin of over 20,000 votes, possibly 25,000 to 26,000. Kejriwal will lose his deposit and finish in third place."

Congress has nominated Sandeep Dikshit, son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, for the New Delhi seat.

Earlier, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey also predicted that Kejriwal would lose, stating that Delhi Police had managed his "goons" and emphasizing that Purvanchalis feel safer under the BJP due to provisions in the Union Budget.
