Interim Railway Budget 2014: List of new lines

New Delhi, Feb 12: The Railways is set to convert the strategically significant 510 kilometre-lomg Rangiya-Murkongselek metre gauge line in Andhra Pradesh into broad gauge in this fiscal. Under this plan, the northeastern state would soon figure on the rail map. The new line between Harmuti and Naharlagun is also likely to be commissioned soon.

Arunachal and Meghalaya set to figure on the railway map

Megahalaya is also set to gain with Dudhnoi - Mehendipathar new line is set to be completed by next month.

Here is the list of new lines:

1. Tiptur - Dudda

2. Nimach - Singoli - Kota

3. Dahod - Modasa

4. Karad - Kadegaon - Lenare - Kharsundi - Attapadi - Diganchi - Mahud - Pandharpur

5. Etah - Aligarh

6. Karnal - Yamuna Nagar via Asandih

7. Extension of Tindivanam - Nagari new line up to Puducherry

8. Challekere - Hiriyur - Huliyur - Chikkanayakanahalli - KB Cross - Turuvekere - Channarayanpatna

9. Betul - Chandur Bazar - Amravati

10. Chakia - Kesariya (Kaithwalia)

11. Miraj - Kavathemahankal - Jath - Bijapur

12. Pune - Baramati via Saswad, Jejuri, Moregaon

13. Etawah - Auraiya - Bhognipur - Ghatampur - Jahanabad - Bakewar - Bindki Road

14. Haldaur - Dhampur

15. Belgaum - Hubli via Kitturu

16. Pune - Ahmednagar via Kegdaon Kasti

17. Bellary - Lingasugur via Siruguppa, Sindhanur

18. Ghatanandur - Shrigonda Road / Daund via Kaij, Manjarsumbha, Patoda and Jamkhed

19. Birari - Mahatoni - Marwara - Mandanpur - Dhamoni - Sagar

Lines to be doubled:

1. Latur Road - Kurduwadi

2. Pune - Kolhapur

3. Allahabad - Pratapgarh

4. Salem - Omalur

5. Prabhani - Parli
