HRD Ministry seeks report from St Stephen's in sexual assault case
New Delhi, June 24: A day after a Delhi court dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of of St Stephen's College professor who was accused of molesting a student, the HRD Ministry on Wednesday sought a report from the college.
After the college was embroiled in a controversy when a PhD student alleged that she was sexually assaulted by a professor under whom she was persuing her PhD, the education ministry has now sought a report from the college authorities.

The student had filed an FIR on June 19 and even said that the college principal tried to protect the professor [St Stephen's PhD student accuses professor of sexual assault, says principal tried to protect him].
The student also alleged that Principal Thampuhad "criminally intimidated her to give a written application to him expressing her consent to close the matter in college itself in order to not cause any delay or problems in completion of her PhD".
