Harshvardhan, who is a well known ENT surgeon is trying his best to woo the medical community and said that it was because of doctors that he won the first elections in 1993.
'It's because of the support of the doctors that I could win the elections'
Appealing to around 300-500 doctors, chemists and medical students who had gathered at Arun Jaitley's house he said that in 1993 when he contested elections he was reluctant. "I entered the fray at the last moment. It's because of the support of the doctors that I could win the elections," he said.
He urged the doctors to form teams in all the 70 assembly seats of Delhi and start campaigning and urged them to carry forward the message of the party to others.
Speaking about the polio eradication programme he said that it was due to the efforts of the doctors, who had contributed to the pulse polio campaign that Delhi was polio-free. "People said polio cannot be eradicated, but the way you did it, we can also finish corruption," he said.
