Hamid Ansari in RS: Can we not respect even the dead?

Chaos erupts in RS over Nido's death
New Delhi, Feb 6: The death of Nido Taniam has managed to ruffle quite a few feathers not just across the country but also in the Parliament.

On Thursday, when the Rajya Sabha was in session, chairman Hamid Ansari, who looked anguished about Taniam's death said: "Can we not respect even the dead?" He said this after members disrupted the discussion on the death of Taniam who died in Delhi last week.

AIADMK and TDP memers created a ruckus on different issues in spite of Ansari agreeing for a discussion on Taniam's death since many political parties requested for it.

While the discussion began, many AIADMK members rushed to the Well protesting the arrest of Tamil fishermen by Srilankan authorities, whereas TDP members raised slogans against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Though Ansari repeatedly asked them to maintain decorum and take their seats, the members refused to budge. Thats when Ansari said, "Can we not respect the dead even?" and then adjourned the House till noon.
