Hyd won't get Union Territory status
New Delhi, Oct 12: The Group of Ministers (GoM) constituted to look into the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, have made it very clear that Hyderabad won't be granted the Union Territority status.

GoM also said that the Centre shall play no role in determining the new capital of Seemandhra, which will be decided by the leaders of the state itself.

After the meeting the GoM said: "It would like to assure all people of Andhra Pradesh that the relevant issues as well as their concerns would be addressed with fairness and objectivity." The GoM also added that it would take opinions of all stakeholders on all important subjects, while formulating its recommendations.

The GoM headed by AK Anthony will look into the re-organisation of border issue and defence installations.

Meanwhile protestors tried to block the police from shifting Chandrababu Naidu to the hospital. Naidu was persuaded by police officials and was taken to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital.

The GoM has given the task of division of assets like water, power, finance, transport and other to key ministers between the two regions.

The GoM will hold its next meeting on October 19.
