FTII row: Gajendra Chauhan urges students to reach a consensus
New Delhi, Oct 13: Even as talks fail between government officials and protesting FTII students, FTII chairman Gajendra Chauhan has appealed to the students to arrive at an agreement at the upcoming meeting.
Officials from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry will be meeting protesting students of the FTII in order to arrive at a consensus. Students are expected to meet Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Tuesday.
Chauhan said: "I appeal to the FTII students to arrive at a consensus in their upcoming meeting with the ministry so that the strike ends and we work together in fulfilling our dreams to enable the institute to reach new heights."
The students, who have been protesting for over 100 days, met Ministry officials few days back but failed to arrive at a consensus.
The students have been protesting Chauhan's appointment as the chairman alleging that he was appointed only because of his political affiliation and not his credentials.
