Major fire breaks out at IIT Delhi
New Delhi, Feb 24: A major fire broke out at the campus of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. According to sources, the fire broke out at one of the hostel rooms inside the IIT campus.

However, reason(s) of the fire is yet to be known. Three fire engines rushed to the spot to douse fire. According to TV reports, one cylinder blast sound was heard.

The fire broke out inside a hostel room on the the third floor. The incident created panic among the students and teaching staff inside the IIT campus.

One fire engine official was quoted as saying, "We received a call around 11.25 a.m. We have sent five fire tenders to the spot. No injuries have been reported so far."

Continuing his statement, the official also added, "The rescue operations are on."
