Evacuations begin in Kutch ahead of Cyclone Nilofar

The Met Department has however said that by the time Nilofar hits Gujarat, its intensity would've reduced. So far 30,000 people have been evacuated in eight tehsil.
Fishermen have been told not to venture out into the sea in the next few days.
Three teams of NDRF personnel with boats, deep sea diving sets and medical kits have reached Surat. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is preparing itself to deal with any situation that may arise as a result of the severe cyclonic storm.
Meanwhile, the Centre on Tuesday reviwed the preparedness of relief and rescue measures taken by Gujarat and offered all full help to the state. Nilofar will also affect the coast of Pakistan by Saturday.
