DV Research Predicts 10-Seat Gap Between BJP, AAP In Delhi Elections

With the 2025 Delhi Assembly election results just days away, pollster DV Research has released its predictions, indicating a close contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

A party needs 36 out of 70 seats to form a government in the national capital, and DV Research's forecast places BJP within the range of securing a clear mandate.

The saffron party could secure between 36 and 44 seats, while AAP is projected to win 26 to 34 seats, creating a 10-seat gap between the two parties.

The poll also paints a bleak picture for the Congress, forecasting a complete wipeout with 0 seats. Other parties, too, are not expected to make any gains in this election.

BJP Gains Momentum

If these predictions hold true, BJP may be on track to secure a majority in Delhi after decades of being out of power.
AAP, which has been in power for the last decade, appears to be facing a decline in its seat share.

In the 2020 elections, the party had won 62 out of 70 seats, leaving the BJP with just 8 seats. The current projections suggest a significant recovery for the BJP while indicating a tougher fight for AAP.

Congress' Decline Continues

The Congress party, once a dominant force in Delhi politics, continues its downward spiral. Having failed to win a single seat in the 2020 elections, the latest poll suggests that the party will once again fail to make any impact.

As Delhi awaits the final results on February 8, the exit polls provide an early glimpse into what could be a fiercely contested battle for the throne of Delhi.
