DMRC Adds 1,100+ E-Autos For Last-Mile Connectivity, Delhites To Experience Smooth Travel

The announcement was made on Wednesday that more than 1,100 e-autos will be added to the existing fleet of electric three-wheelers by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

It was revealed that the Transport Department had allotted 2,299 e-auto permits to the DMRC, consisting of 1,636 general permits and 663 for women, as reported by Zee News.

Currently, 1,183 e-autos have been registered, comprising 857 general permits and 326 for women, with an additional 1,116 expected to complete registration by the end of August. These e-autos are operational from approximately 40 DMRC stations that have been equipped with charging points and dedicated parking spaces, according to officials, as reported by NDTV.

The permits have been distributed to authorized operators stationed at metro facilities in Chhatarpur, Dwarka, Rohini, and northwest Delhi. DMRC Managing Director Vikas Kumar emphasized that ensuring last-mile connectivity for commuters remains a critical priority.

He highlighted the suitability of e-autos over larger buses, especially in navigating the confined spaces typical of metro stations. Kumar noted that partnerships have been established with companies to supply and operate these e-autos within DMRC circuits, specifically designed to enhance last-mile connectivity efficiently, as per media reports.

DMRC Launches Airport Check-in

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced a new airport check-in facility for international flights at New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium stations on the Airport Express Line. Launched in early June, this service aims to streamline travel procedures for passengers departing from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in New Delhi, as reported by DMRC's Official Instagram Page.
