Delhi Woman Stabbed: Man Arrested In Mukherjee Nagar, CCTV Footage Emerges

In a shocking incident that unfolded in broad daylight in Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar on Friday, a man was arrested by the police for a brutal stabbing attack on a woman.

The entire episode, captured on CCTV cameras, quickly spread across social media platforms, sparking outrage and concern.

According to reports from News18, the accused, identified as Aman, is a resident employed as a cook in a paying guest accommodation in the vicinity. Aman confessed to authorities that he had been facing constant mockery and derogatory remarks from students in the area, who allegedly labelled him as 'crazy'. In his statement to the police, Aman revealed that the victim had also made disparaging comments towards him, further fueling his anger.

Describing the sequence of events, Aman admitted to impulsively grabbing a knife from a nearby vegetable vendor and launching a frenzied assault on the woman. The CCTV footage captured the horrifying moments when the suspect sprinted towards the victim, forcibly pushed her to the ground and proceeded to stab her multiple times with the knife.

Fortunately, a passerby intervened in the nick of time, preventing the woman from sustaining grievous injuries. Reports from the news agency ANI indicated that the victim's condition was stable and that she was no longer in imminent danger.

In the footage, the assailant can be seen persistently attacking the woman, despite the bystander's attempts to intervene. A motorcyclist passerby tried to apprehend the suspect, but he managed to evade capture momentarily before attempting to assault the woman again. However, another individual intervened, preventing further harm and allowing the authorities to ultimately apprehend the suspect.

The incident underscores the importance of prompt intervention and vigilance in preventing such acts of violence. It also highlights the role of surveillance cameras in aiding law enforcement agencies in investigating and apprehending perpetrators of crime.
