Delhi Weather Update: Rainfall On These Days; IMD Issues Yellow Alert

North India will continue to bear the brunt of the persistent cold weather, with no signs of improvement in sight. Adding to the woes, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'Cold Day Alert' or yellow alert for several areas in Delhi.

However, there is a chance of light rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday, which could further contribute to a decrease in daytime temperatures.

Delhi Weather Update

The wet spell over the Western Himalayan Region from January 29 to February 3 will result in rainfall over various northern states, particularly on January 30 and 31.

Meanwhile, union territories Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh state are expected to experience moderate rainfall or snowfall until February 3. Specifically, heavy rainfall or snowfall is predicted for Kashmir on January 30 and 31, and similar weather conditions are forecasted for Himachal Pradesh on January 31.

There is a slight expectation that the thick blanket of fog in the plains will reduce significantly due to rainfall.

According to the IMD, the minimum temperatures in parts of Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, North Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, North-Eastern Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and Sikkim are likely to range between seven and 10 degrees Celsius.

North India is gripped by an intense and bone-chilling cold, exacerbated by plunging temperatures and thick fog. The persistent dense fog led to poor visibility that disrupted transportation, both rail and flight. Travelling by road is also unsafe, particularly during morning and night hours.
