Delhi Weather Update: IMD Issues Yellow Alert For June 25; Check When Monsoon Will Arrive In Delhi

Today, the temperature in Delhi is 40 degrees Celsius, with the forecast predicting a minimum temperature of 29 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 39 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for a heatwave for both June 25 and 26. The relative humidity is 33 per cent, and the wind speed is 33 kilometres per hour. The sun rose at 05:24 AM and will set at 07:22 PM.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi today is 166, which indicates poor air quality. Residents are advised to take precautions, especially those with respiratory conditions, as the air quality can have adverse health effects.

Delhi Weather Update

Over the past three days, Delhi and its neighbouring areas have experienced some relief from the intense heatwave that had persisted for weeks. Although the temperature remains high, the severity of the heatwave has reduced, providing some respite to the residents. However, the current conditions are described as moist and humid, which many find worse than the heatwave. Previously, despite the high temperatures, the air was breathable, but the increased humidity has made it more uncomfortable.

Delhi Weather Forecast For the Next 7 Days

Looking ahead, the forecast for the next seven days predicts varying weather conditions. On June 26, the temperature will range from 28 degrees Celsius to 38 degrees Celsius, with thunderstorms and rain expected. Similar weather is predicted for June 27 and 28, with temperatures ranging from 27 degrees Celsius to 37 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius to 37 degrees Celsius, respectively. On June 29, a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain is expected, with temperatures between 25 degrees Celsius and 36 degrees Celsius. Rain or thundershowers are forecasted for June 30 and July 1, with temperatures ranging from 23 degrees Celsius to 36 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Monsoon Update

The Southwest Monsoon is progressing and is expected to advance further into Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, and parts of East Uttar Pradesh over the next three days. Conditions are becoming favourable for the monsoon to advance into more parts of Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh within the next 72 hours. Heavy rainfall is predicted in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry over the coming days.

According to the IMD, the monsoon is expected to set in Delhi on June 30. IMD scientist Naresh Kumar indicated that the monsoon is likely to hit Delhi NCR by the end of the month, bringing much-needed relief from the ongoing heatwave.
